Pablo Alvarez is a Research Fellow at TCD and collaborates with Learnovate Centre as a Tech Lead and Innovation Consultant. He has been using innovative methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean and Agile Development, Rapid Prototyping and Design Sprint in a variety of projects with EdTech industry members. He also holds experience as a VET teacher and tutor and has participated in Erasmus+ programmes running training workshops, organising meetings and activities for partners and supporting students and fellow teachers in exploring new learning opportunities and using newly acquired skills in applied projects

Combining his past experience teaching in VET schools with his current role utilising the innovation methodologies – Agile development, Design Thinking, Lean Start up etc – to work with Industry partners in exploring their problems and prototyping solutions, first determined to seek a cooperation partnership that would bring these two elements together. This partnership explores the idea of training Design Thinking and Agile methodologies in the VET schools as a cross-disciplinary activity and in so doing seeks to address the need: lack of cross-disciplinary and collaborative activities in the school.
