Kathryn Cormican

Professor Kathryn Cormican is a distinguished expert in systems engineering at the University of Galway, where she heads the Enterprise Research Centre and manages a team of PhD students, research associates and post-doctoral fellows. Her research focuses on Technology Innovation Management and Enterprise Systems, with a strong emphasis on working with industry to design, develop and implement innovative solutions. She has published over 160 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals, including Computers in Industry and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. She has received numerous awards for her contributions, including the Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year (2022) and the prestigious John Burbidge Award for her doctoral research.

Professor Cormican is internationally recognised for her impact, having delivered keynote addresses at leading conferences, served on editorial boards and reviewed for top journals. She has held visiting positions at the Mayo Clinic (USA) and Tsinghua University (China), further expanding her global network. She also leads an award-winning Masters in Enterprise Systems, designed to prepare graduates for high-tech industries, and has led the development of innovative modules in technology innovation, project management and research methods. Her extensive academic leadership and industrial collaborations reinforce her significant influence in both areas.

Suzana Sampaio received the bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Catholic University of Pernambuco, in 2000, the master’s degree in computer science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, in 2010, with a focus on software productivity, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, in 2015, with a focus on project management.

She was a Specialist in information technology with the Federal University of Pernambuco, in 2002. She was a Collaborating Researcher at the Engineering and Computer Center, National University of Ireland (NUI), Galway, Ireland, where she currently managing the INCREMENTA Project, collaborating on business innovation research, design thinking, and shared leadership. She held a postdoctoral position at NUI, from 2018 to 2019. She is currently a Lecturer and a Researcher with the Department of Computing, Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. With over 20 years of experience in the software development industry and ten in consulting (process improvement, productivity and agile mindset, and practices).

She has IS/IT services for government and project reality. Regarding research, she has experience and interests include computer science, focusing on software engineering, on the following topics: project management, agile methodologies, human and social aspects in software engineering, process and quality improvement, innovation, uncertainty management, and service delivery.

Deirdre Green, Learnovate Centre Programme Manager, brings knowledge and skill from over twenty years’ experience in team, production and project management to her role at Learnovate. During this time Deirdre was responsible for the delivery of large multi-faceted projects across eLearning, internet and app publishing industries. At Learnovate she has managed a wide range of research projects across the Schools, Corporate and Lifelong learning contexts working with a range of industry and academic partners to deliver innovative technology and insightful research reports.

Pablo Alvarez

Pablo Alvarez is a Research Fellow at TCD and collaborates with Learnovate Centre as a Tech Lead and Innovation Consultant. He has been using innovative methodologies such as Design Thinking, Lean and Agile Development, Rapid Prototyping and Design Sprint in a variety of projects with EdTech industry members. He also holds experience as a VET teacher and tutor and has participated in Erasmus+ programmes running training workshops, organising meetings and activities for partners and supporting students and fellow teachers in exploring new learning opportunities and using newly acquired skills in applied projects

Combining his past experience teaching in VET schools with his current role utilising the innovation methodologies – Agile development, Design Thinking, Lean Start up etc – to work with Industry partners in exploring their problems and prototyping solutions, first determined to seek a cooperation partnership that would bring these two elements together. This partnership explores the idea of training Design Thinking and Agile methodologies in the VET schools as a cross-disciplinary activity and in so doing seeks to address the need: lack of cross-disciplinary and collaborative activities in the school.

SIC Brežice

Strokovno izobraževalni center ima 2 organizacijski enoti: Srednjo šolo in Višjo strokovno šolo.

Izvajamo pet verificiranih izobraževalnih programov srednjega poklicnega in srednjega strokovnega izobraževanja, in sicer: 3-letni program trgovec, 4-letni program ekonomski tehnik, 4-letni program predšolska vzgoja, 4-letni program zdravstvena nega in 2-letni poklicno-tehniški program ekonomski tehnik (pti).

Na Višji strokovni šoli Brežice izvajamo dva višješolska strokovna programa: ekonomist in velnes. Šola je prav tako verificirana za izobraževanje odraslih.

CP Liceo La Paz

Liceo La Paz je ena najpomembnejših izobraževalnih ustanov v A Coruñi, ki združuje več kot 2500 dijakov in 200 učiteljev. Šola pokriva vse ravni izobraževanja, od predšolske vzgoje do poklicnega izobraževanja in usposabljanja (VET). Ustanovljena je bila pred 55 leti, poudarja odličnost in ponuja raznolike izobraževalne izkušnje, vključno s kulturnimi dejavnostmi. Zaradi svoje kakovosti je prejela številna priznanja, med njimi tudi nagrado Honorable World Academy of Education. Šola dijake pripravlja na prihodnost tudi z prakso v podjetjih, kar jim omogoča lažji prehod v poklicno življenje. S 17 različnimi izobraževalnimi programi zagotavlja kakovostno izobraževanje, pri čemer daje poudarek osebnostnemu in intelektualnemu razvoju v vključujočem in spodbudnem okolju.

CPR Daniel Castelao

The Daniel Castelao Professional Training Center was founded in 1975 and was born from the need to meet a demand for training for people in the professional environment. The school is located in Vigo (Spain).

It has 31 workers, of which 26 are teachers and 5 administration and services personnel. Every school-year around 300 students attend classes at our school.
The degrees which are taught at the school, belong to the three levels that the Ministry of Education recognised in the Spanish System: Vocational Training for Basic Vocational Training, Middle Level Vocational Training Cycles and Higher Vocational Training Cycles. All the studies are framed within three different professional families: Administration and Business, Information Technology and Electricity and Electronics.

AES (Serta – Portugal)

Agrupamento de Escolas de Sertã (AES) is located in Sertã, a rural area in the interior of the Castelo Branco district, in the centre of Portugal. As one of the main local employers, AES provides education from early childhood to secondary school, including vocational courses in digital services, multimedia, electricity, and more. With 1430 students, the school focuses on adapting to the needs of a diverse student population, including many migrants, and is recognized for the quality of its vocational education.

Ekonomska šola Novo mesto

The EŠNM consists of two units: the secondary school and the higher vocational college. The secondary school teaches students aged 15 to 19 in courses for economists, media technicians and salespeople. The Higher Vocational College offers courses in economics and media production for students between the ages of 19 and 23. Economics students acquire skills in entrepreneurship, management, IT, communication and foreign languages. The school works with start-up companies to promote entrepreneurial ideas. In addition, students in media production learn video production, photography, graphic and web design, focusing on creativity, storytelling, media literacy, sustainability and digital skills.

AEVA

AEVA is a non-profit association that enjoys the prerogatives of legal persons of public utility, dedicated to education and the valorisation of the Aveiro Region. It was set up in 1998 with the aim of meeting the needs felt in the region’s business fabric, intervening on a larger scale in what is its most visible aspect, the Escola Profissional de Aveiro. Its head office is in Aveiro and it has influence in all eleven municipalities that make up the Aveiro Region Intermunicipal Community.
