Professor Kathryn Cormican is a distinguished expert in systems engineering at the University of Galway, where she heads the Enterprise Research Centre and manages a team of PhD students, research associates and post-doctoral fellows. Her research focuses on Technology Innovation Management and Enterprise Systems, with a strong emphasis on working with industry to design, develop and implement innovative solutions. She has published over 160 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals, including Computers in Industry and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics. She has received numerous awards for her contributions, including the Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year (2022) and the prestigious John Burbidge Award for her doctoral research.
Professor Cormican is internationally recognised for her impact, having delivered keynote addresses at leading conferences, served on editorial boards and reviewed for top journals. She has held visiting positions at the Mayo Clinic (USA) and Tsinghua University (China), further expanding her global network. She also leads an award-winning Masters in Enterprise Systems, designed to prepare graduates for high-tech industries, and has led the development of innovative modules in technology innovation, project management and research methods.
